      Comanche County Medical Center (CCMC), comanchecmc.org, is a nonprofit healthcare organization which serves as the hub of a growing rural health system serving people in Brown, Comanche, Eastland, Erath and neighboring counties. The system features: a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) with 24/7 Level-4 ER, general surgery, primary and family care clinics, physician specialists, retail pharmacies, physical therapy facilities and wellness centers, swing bed skilled nursing facility, digital imaging and radiology, and 24/7 laboratory. Outpatient services include: cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory therapy, chronic care management, infusion therapy, hand specialist and wound care clinic. Other services: cancer and lung screenings, occupational health programs, diabetic education and community health events. Integral to the healthcare system is the Comanche County Consolidated Hospital District with county-wide Emergency Management Services (EMS) including ambulances and first responders in both Comanche and De Leon, medical buildings, and Whitestone Assisted Living center.

      Comanche County Medical Center (CCMC) is holding a Diabetes Relief? information session for the public on Monday, July 26, 5:30pm, in the CCMC Cafeteria Conference Room, 10201 Highway 16 North, Comanche. Dwayne Miller, MD, Chief Medical Officer, and Rachel Hilliard, FNP, Nurse Practitioner, will discuss the features of the new infusion therapy available at CCMC and answer questions. The Diabetes Relief? infusion is a patented insulin resensitization therapy. Treatment plans are physician-directed for eligible patients with metabolic disorders such as diabetes including T1, T2 and pre-diabetes. CCMC is the sole licensed provider in the region and administers the treatment as an outpatient service through its Infusion Therapy Center located on the hospital campus. Session attendees are asked to park in the back of the hospital building (east side) and enter through the main rear door. Protective face masks must be worn to enter the building and participate.
