    Job Description

    Entry level position that uses CAD equipment to provide support to engineers by assisting with the preparation of routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacture. Makes copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to database.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Assists with the review of trailer layout and quote sheet by reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
    • Assists engineering staff on measurements of trailer by participating in Trailer Checks and actively measuring empty space of the trailer and checking actual measurements against floor plan layout
    • Assists with the planning for dimensional cabinetry drawings by learning how to produce customer cabinet drawings using CAD equipment, understanding the lay-out process and understanding the build process & assembly processes of the manufacturing floor
    • Assists in the creation of drawings by adjusting drafts as many times after measuring as necessary to ensure accuracy. and checking and organizing all data prior to the release of drawings to production

    Requirements & Minimal Essential Qualifications

    • Highschool Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
    • Good computer, math, and communication skills
    • Microsoft Office Suite experience
    • Must be able to learn industry-specific software as needed.
    • Must be able to read a tape measurer effectively to the 8th of an inch.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to retain information, take direction, take detailed notes, and keep up with fast pace.
    • Ability to multi-task effectively and keep on track.
    • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated but also work a in a cohesive manner as part of a team.
    • General knowledge of woodwork construction or cabinetry is preferred.
    • 1-year technical degree in architectural drafting or equivalent experience/education a plus
    • Cabinet Vision experience a plus.
