              Written by Anton Chekhov. Chekhov's primary concern in The Three Sisters is to examine the human condition in the face of poverty and hardship. The development of the characters' emotional states all point to the real, emotional side of life. Chekhov suggests that what drives us in life is rooted in our emotions.
