    Homecoming Parade Rules and Regulations 2021
     
    PARADE: Will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
     

    ASSEMBLY:
    ALL ENTRIES All entries should report to Tarleton State University Baseball Parking Lot (P34). Entry into this lot is off of S Harbin Dr. Representative from the Tarleton State University Homecoming Parade Subcommittees will be located at the entrance to assist entries. Mounted units should report to the same parking lot and will be led to their staging area as well.
     
    Only those vehicles participating in the parade procession will be admitted entrance to the Baseball Field Parking Lot (P34). If you are dropping off persons to ride in the parade, please park outside the Baseball Field parking lot and walk the person to his/her designated area. If you are bringing decorations to be placed on participating vehicles, please park outside the Baseball Field parking lot and walk the materials to the designated area.
     
    Floats and Walking Floats entered by a recognized student organization of Tarleton State University or community member, who indicated they wished to be judged, must be in their specified location by 8:00 a.m. Judging will begin at 8:30 a.m. All other floats must be in their specified location by 8:30 a.m.
     
    VIP Cars, Cars/Pick-Ups, Trucks/Trailers will assemble at Baseball Field Parking Lot (P34) beginning at 7:00 a.m. All entries must be in place by 9:00 a.m. Representatives will be located in the Baseball Field parking lot to assist your group with assembling.
     
    Children’s Marching Units/Bands/Other Marching Units will assemble in the Baseball Field (P34) parking lot. All entries must be in place by 9:15 a.m. Representatives will be located in the Baseball Field parking lot to assist your group with assembling.
     
    Horse Mounted Units will assemble the Baseball Field parking lot (P34). Entries must be in position no later than 9:00 a.m. Entry into the parade will be made solely under the direction of the Homecoming Parade subcommittee. Representatives will be located at this location to assist your group with assembling.
     
    DEPARTURE will be under the supervision of the Homecoming Parade Subcommittee and will begin at approximately 9:55 a.m. at the West entrance of P34 and will head north on Harbin St to cut down W. Washington St.
     
    PARADE ROUTE North on Harbin, East on Washington, North on McIllhaney, West on Vanderbilt and the parde will dissipate from there based on float needs.
     
    CITY OFFICIALS will provide vehicles to divert traffic and allow entrance from the Baseball Parking Lot (P34) to N Harbin Street.
     
    SAFETY:
    • Speed of motor vehicles will not exceed 10 miles per hour.
    • Drivers will not allow vehicles to approach other units or spectators too closely.
    • No vehicle in the parade will stop on the route to load or unload passengers.
    • Entries will not be allowed to throw items from the top of vehicles/floats
    • If your organization wishes to give out candy, you will need to have a representative walking on each side of the parade entry and distribute items individually.
    DISMISSAL
    At the dismissal of the Parade, all participants can proceed to the Baseball Field Parking Lot (P34) where they will dismiss upon the conclusion of the parade or will be able to disperse upon reaching the exit route beginning at Vanderbilt Street.
