    Date: November 4, 2018
    Time: 2:00 PM - 2:00 PM CST
    Event Description:
    On Sunday, November 4th, 2018, the Friends of the Tarleton Dick Smith Library and the Stephenville Historical House Museum will be hosting their annual visit to the past at the West End Cemetery (on the corner of Washington Street and Lillian Street). Those attending will return to Stephenville and Erath County’s history through the lives of those pioneers who settled and built our community.
    In short skits actors will entertain attendees by portraying men and women from our county’s colorful World War I heritage. The Great War celebrates the 100th anniversary of armistice this year. Historical characters included will be:
    • Tuscania survivor Quince Golightly and his sister Grace Driver;
    • WWI nurse Lucy Hennigan (best known for her role as Tarleton and Stephenville ISD nurse);
    • Gold Star tour participants Rose Emma Boyd and widow Ethel Bird;  Erath County’s first WWI draftee, H. Grady Perry; and
    • Tarleton Coach W.J. Wisdom.

    Sweet Memories Ladies Barbershop Group will perform the afternoon’s musical introduction. Local actors will be Jim and Katrina Hinson, Lori LaRue, M.J. Loyd, Jim Perry, Ed Tober, and Sheran Weible. Costuming is provided by the Tarleton Theatre Department.
    The 2018 Spirit Walk is dedicated to Erath County’s WWI heroes. Daily event updates are available by following the Stephenville Historical House Museum on Facebook. On November 4th, there are two performance times – 2 pm and 3:30 pm. Ticket price is $5.00 per person with the proceeds benefitting both sponsors. A special 10th year program, featuring photographs and biographies of previous subjects, is available for $5.00 per copy. Also available is county-wide publication listing all known World War I veterans buried in Erath County. At Rest in Erath County: World War I Veterans is available for $5.00 per copy.
