              Event Description:
              The Stephenville Chamber of Commerce and Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo Association invite the community to join us in congratulating our local cowboys and cowgirls as they return home from competing in the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas!

              The reception will provide community members the opportunity to meet the NFR contestants and their families and celebrate their achievements. The 20 local NFR qualifiers combined to win over $1.5 million in Las Vegas at what is considered to be the Super Bowl of the sport of rodeo!

              Honorees will include: Bareback Rider Richmond Champion; Team Ropers Dustin Bird, Luke Brown, Shay Carroll, Kaleb Driggers, Paul Eaves, Travis Graves, Dugan Kelly, Dakota Kirchenschlager, Jake Long, Cody Snow and Wesley Thorp; Saddle Bronc Riders Jacobs Crawley and Sterling Crawley; Tie-Down Ropers Timber Moore, Reese Riemer, Ryle Smith and Marty Yates; and Barrel Racer Stevi Hillman. Women’s Professional Rodeo Association World Champions Jackie Crawford and JJ Hampton will also be recognized as they each now have a record 17 World Championships!

              We look forward to honoring these professional rodeo athletes and recognizing the important role they play in the Stephenville area being known as the Cowboy Capital of the World. Many of these cowboys and cowgirls were born and raised in the Stephenville area. Others got here as fast as they could to enjoy the plethora of events, practice opportunities, and exceptional quality of life our area has to offer. Several came to attend Tarleton State University and compete for the largest college rodeo program in the nation.

              Guests will enjoy light refreshments and music by Chad Wakefield as they meet and visit with the NFR contestants. With PRCA Announcer Randy Schmutz and Chamber President July Danley serving as emcees, the program will include official remarks by Mayor Kenny Weldon, interviews with each of the NFR qualifiers, and special recognition of local rodeo industry professionals who represented the Cowboy Capital of the World at the National Finals Rodeo.
