    Date: March 1, 2026
    Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM CST
    Event Description:

Join us at the W. K. Gordon Museum for a chat with the TPWD.

They will be covering the Palo Pinto Mountains State Park as it will very soon become the newest state park in Texas! With the property originally bought in 2011, it’s a long time coming. But what goes into building a park?

Come and hear from a ranger about the steps taken to balance outdoor recreation opportunities for Texans while also conservating wild spaces. From shielding starry skies to protecting historic waterways, this park will offer a natural sanctuary for generations to come!
