101 Studios will be filming a limited TV Series in Downtown Stephenville from May 1-3.
Bass Reeves is a drama about a frontier lawman based around 1870.
The project crew has been working in downtown for several weeks constructing the sets for the show.
Please see the map below detailing the timing and location of street closures.
Parking is available on many side streets as well as the Graham St. Church of Christ parking lot and TexasBank parking lot.
Most downtown area businesses WILL REMAIN OPEN throughout the filming.
-City of Stephenville offices will remain open all regular days and hours.
-Courthouse will remain open all regular days and hours, though visitors must enter through the doors on north side, as other side entrances will be closed during filming.
-County Clerk's office located in the courthouse will temporarily move to the Donald R. Jones Justice Center located across the street at 298 S Graham St. from April 27 - May 5. Office hours will remain the same.
-Chamber of Commerce office will be closed to foot traffic May 1-3, but we will still be available by phone.
A few businesses on the south and west side of the square will be closed May 1-3 during filming.
All streets are still open to foot traffic through April 30. Though some streets will be closed to vehicle traffic before and during filming, most will still be open to foot traffic. Only a small area will be closed to both vehicle and foot traffic on May 1-3.

What is going on downtown?
101 Studios is working to transform downtown Stephenville to the 1860s era for the television series, Bass Reeves.
Are the downtown businesses open while the work is being done?
YES! The businesses are OPEN with their regular hours.
Where do I park downtown?
The Church of Christ’s parking lot at the corner of Green Street and Mason Street and the Texas Bank parking lot at Mason and Graham Street have been designated for downtown customer and merchant parking (see attached).
Is it OK to walk on the planked sidewalks?
Yes, the planked sidewalks are OK for walking. Please watch your step for uneven surfaces. However, we ask that you please do not walk around areas that are blocked by cones or over areas where the workers are actually working.
Are the streets closed downtown?
The streets are currently open through April 27. There may be very brief closures in the event that large equipment is moved around the square. Please be patient.
Are they putting dirt on the streets for this?
Yes, dirt will be placed on the downtown streets on April 27. Once dirt has been put on the streets, car traffic will be diverted away from the area.
Will the downtown businesses be open when dirt is on the streets?
YES, businesses will open but cars may not drive on the dirt. It is OK for pedestrians to walk on the streets with dirt on them.
Will downtown Stephenville be closed for this project?
The businesses within the project’s footprint will be closed May 1-3 for filming.
When does filming begin?
The filming is scheduled to start the first week of May.
Will I be able to watch the filming of the television show?
NO, this will be a closed set during the days of the actual filming for the television show.
