This is a fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis research as there is no known cause or cure. We were the first trail ride in the nation to be sanctioned by the National Multiple Sclerosis as a official fundraiser.
What is Multiple Sclerosis?
Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild such as numbness in the limbs or severe paralysis or loss of vision. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50 but the unpredictable physical and emotional effects can be lifelong. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are giving hope to those affected by the disease. Currently MS affects 400,00 people in the U.S. and 2.5 million worldwide.
Where Does the Money Go?
The National MS Society is dedicated to ending the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. Funds received through the MS Trail Ride supports research, education, advocacy, and local programs that enhance the quality of life for people with MS and their families. When MS strikes, people are encouraged to contact their local chapters for assistance, advice, and programs.
