    Nature's Wildlife by Gary Marks

A short history of my life will help explain why my interest and passion is found within “Nature’s Wildlife”. I was very fortunate being raised in Somervell County (Glen Rose), and to spend my working life in this same community. I was able to support and expand the services of Glen Rose Medical Center basically founded by my father Dr. Roger E. Marks. During this time my parents guided me through many lessons in what God has created through history, and the nature in this world we are often passing by.

I started photography as a hobby 15 years ago primarily photographing deer in Somervell County. This interest was then directed to a broader scope focusing on nature and the beauty with the creations found within “Nature’s Wildlife”.

As a young man I spent many weekends hunting Indian artifacts throughout Somervell and parts of Hood County. This hobby had my father, and dear friend Windell Rozelle, and myself walking over many miles of Somervell County over a 12- year period. During this time, I encountered many memories of nature’s world: birds, deer, snakes, native trees, thousand-year old springs used as water source for Indians, and of course many Indian artifacts. These great adventures, as a young man, sparked an interest with all the nature has to offer!!

Traveling with my camera to photograph my encounters with “Nature’s Wildlife” continued my passion of time with God’s creations. These adventures are always meaningful and full of surprises (as you will see in the presentation) as I continue to document my time with the wonders of Nature. Somervell County, Hood County, the Brazos River, Dubai and the Galapagos Islands have provided opportunities to photograph Bald Eagles, Eaglets, Osprey, Red Shoulder Hawks, Cooper Hawks, Barred Owls, and Great Horned Owls, and the Blue Footed Boobies.

Wildlife photography is a passion that I enjoy every day and now enjoy sharing with others. I have created a Facebook site called “Photography Inspired by Nature’s Wildlife by Gary Marks”. Access can be obtained by requesting to be a friend of Gary Marks. There you will find photos of my encounters with Nature and a personal note with each photo. I welcome you to view this site, and I would enjoy reading your comments.
Sharing my love of the natural beauty in the world we live in through photography is truly a pleasure.
