This service is in memory of four chaplains (Methodist, Jewish, Dutch Reformed and Roman Catholic) who perished aboard the U.S. Army Transport Dorchester in 1943 after taking off their life vests and giving them to four young soldiers. As the Dorchester sank, the chaplains were seen linked arm in arm, praying. More than 670 men died.
Following the service, refreshments will be served. Public is invited.
