    Job Description
    Clark Gardens is seeking a Director of Events .

    Position Description:
    The Director of Events is responsible for the sale and execution of private and public events at Clark Gardens. The Director of events will be in charge of communication and execution of written sales agreements. The Director of events is also responsible for successful pre-event planning of the event, management of the event and the events staff, and post-event follow up while delivering outstanding customer service. Other duties include the planning and execution of all public events, overseeing maintenance and scheduling of guests and cleaners for the Airbnb homes on the property, and the hire and management of the Clark Gardens event staff.
    This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Clark Gardens.

    Qualifications:
    4 year degree from accredited university in one of the following areas of studies, preferred but not required: public relations; event management; business; marketing, or hospitality management OR equivalent experience. Added consideration given to those with experience in private event sales or experience in wedding industry.

    Responsibilities include:
    Various duties related to the facility rental and public/private events, researching and creating festival activities, soliciting and interfacing with vendors, entertainers, assisting in the design of marketing concepts, implementing the marketing campaign, event set-up, floor plans and activities, coordination, take down of tables and chairs, shuttling guests, maintaining venue, composing internet presence, general administrative duties, oversee event function, and post event analysis. Greeting customers, conducting tours of the facility, promoting event sites within the garden, describing event packages, responding to all questions and inquiries from potential customers in professional, courteous manner.
    • Booking events using Clark Gardens standard contract
    • Continue verbal and written communication with customers and other garden staff to effectively plan the event 
    • Partner with event staff to execute the event
    • Respond to customer requests and resolve issues and concerns in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner
    • Participate in trade shows and industry events to maintain visibility and promote Clark Gardens
    • Follow all Clark Gardens policies and procedure regarding contract negotiations, deposit and final payment collections and safety for all employees and garden/event guests
    • Meet quarterly sales goals
    • Maintain list of area event vendors worthy of recommendation to customers
    • Maintain an up to date schedule of scheduled events and tours
    • Maintain a current and active knowledge of competitor products, pricing and activity
    • Provide a weekly report to Assistant Director and Director of Clark Gardens of appointments and bookings
    • Maintain up to date and accurate log of customer contact information 
    • Market Clark Gardens to proactively locate new potential customers
    • Work with entire Garden staff in cooperative manner to ensure exceptional customer service
    • Ensure event planning materials including brochures, website, contracts, and others are current and up to date  Plan and execute public events
    • General clerical office tasks including answering phone and admissions booth coverage
    • Outgoing sociable personality with strong people skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong time management skills
    • Ability to multi-task with a can do attitude
    • Highly skilled in social media platforms
    • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions in a natural environment
    • Willing to work as team member in highly dynamic office

    • Able to work on your feet for long shifts

    Job requirements:  
    • A Background check will be required for the prevailing candidate.
    • Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm, and Saturday during peak season differs from scheduled event time, Saturdays during non-peak season 9:00am-3:00pm.
