    Job Description


    Monday – Friday

    4:00 am – 12:00 pm overtime is mandatory

    $13.00 per hour 


    • Operate M.I. cable machine/roll mill to anneal heater cable.
    • Tig weld inconel, stainless steel, incalloy and copper cable.
    • Ability to monitor and adjust laser tracker for weld tip.
    • Inspect cable and test with high voltage testing equipment per project standards.
    • Fill out shift/scrap report concisely and legibly each day.
    • Complete change over setup.
    • May oil and grease equipment.
    • Perform product examination and rework when line is down due to causes beyond mechanic’s control.
    • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans and take corrective action. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
    • Test equipment to check operation. Clear jams and set aside product for inspection and rework. Try equipment out after repairs, changeovers, or extended downtime.
    • Examine, test, and measure product from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments, and record data on appropriate forms. Check product for visual defects.
    • Make preventative maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, report findings to supervisor and take appropriate action.
    • Examine defects and analyze problems and where possible, take corrective action.
    • Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production report.
    • Notify maintenance department or supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed.
    • Must be able to lift 130 – 140 pounds per cable.
    • Any other job duties assigned by supervisor.


    • Attention and care required to prevent injury to self and others when performing maintenance work.
    • Work involves considerable stooping, bending, and lifting of cables.
    • Wear personal protective equipment at all times.
    • Working knowledge of changeover/setup operations.
    • Working knowledge of inspection and test standards specified in heater cable projects.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others.
    • Must be able to lift 130 – 140 pounds per cable.
    • Must be able to work overtime as required.
    • Must have good attendance and safety record.
