Now being held at Comanche County Medical Center(CCMC) a research-based Diabetes Prevention Program is held every Tuesday, beginning January 7, 2020. The year-long lifestyle intervention program is based on the National Diabetes Prevention Program created in 2010.
This program focuses on healthy eating and activity; participants cut their risk of developing type 2 diabetesby approximately 58% (71% for people over 60 years of age). The program is offered free to adults (over 18 years of age) who meet certain requirements.
Participants commit to a weekly, one-hour session every Tuesday in one of two sessions offered, at 2:00 PM or 5:30 PM.
