Saint-Gobain celebrates 40 years in Stephenville

The Saint-Gobain Abrasives manufacturing facility in Stephenville, Texas is celebrating their 40th birthday this year. They first opened the doors in 1976 as Norton Company. The facility employs approximately 450 people locally in the manufacture of coated abrasives products for the industrial manufacturing and maintenance, auto repair, construction and home improvement markets.

The facility celebrated this milestone with a catered barbecue lunch by Hard Eight BBQ and birthday cake for all employees. Everyone also viewed a special birthday video from the community. It showed how the plant touches the lives of the Stephenville community.  Key partners and community leaders made personalized messages for the Stephenville employees, including U.S. Congressman Michael Conaway, Stephenville Mayor Kenny Weldon and many other significant community members and long-term friends of the site.  The video message focused on the importance of what Saint-Gobain Abrasives Stephenville employees do every day collectively and the importance of each member of the Stephenville team as an individual.
