Downtown Stephenville Farmers Market Kicking Off in September
The Stephenville Downtown Merchants are excited to announce the creation of a Farmers Market in Downtown Stephenville. This fall, the market will be held the first Saturday in September, October, and November, from 9:00 am to Noon in the Downtown Plaza parking lot. Residents can start their Saturday morning off early with a visit to Cars & Coffee around the Courthouse from 7:00 am - 10:00 am before walking across the street to the farmers market!
Over the past few months, a committee made up of representatives from the Stephenville Downtown Merchants Association, Stephenville Chamber of Commerce, City of Stephenville Parks & Recreation, Erath County AgriLife Extension Office, and Tarleton State University College of Agriculture came together to research how markets operate in other communities and develop a framework for hosting a farmers market in Stephenville.
The Downtown Stephenville Farmers Market is currently seeking vendors. Sales will be limited to plants and produce only. Items may include vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, grains, eggs, honey, jams and horticultural plants. Vendors will pay a one-time fee of $15 for the 2017 season.
