Name: Western Art Exhibit & Reception for Artist Tim Goss
    Date: September 19, 2016
    Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM CDT
    Event Description:
Come enjoy refreshments and meet artist Tim Goss, featured in the exhibit at Clark Field Regional Airport during Rodeo Heritage Week.

Tim Goss is a multi-award winning artist specializing in rural Texas themed pieces done in graphite pencil. Tim works primarily from his own photography of Central Texas, the Hill Country, and Trans-Pecos regions of Texas. Using his home as a base, a large amount of his photographs are taken in Bosque and surrounding counties. Tim works out of a barn converted to a studio, on the western shore of Lake Whitney.

Tim started drawing after suffering a traumatic brain injury in 2010. He was declared totally disabled by his doctors, unable to take care of himself. Due to a palsy condition with his right hand, his sister, and occupational therapist, suggested that the repetitive motion of drawing might help with strength and muscle memory. Tim, although having no formal training, began drawing from magazines with varied results. But Tim stuck with it and began to see gradual improvement in his art and his health. Tim’s doctors believed that the artwork was responsible for the vast improvement in his health. Through trial and error Tim’s work began to take on a distinctive look and feel. Once Tim recovered enough to drive himself, he began to take photographs in and around Bosque County for his artwork. Tim entered his first juried art show in 2012 and won 1st and 2nd place. He became a professional artist in late 2013.

Since going professional, Tim has won multiple awards in Texas juried art shows and exhibited in art centers and museums. Tim has also had pieces accepted to the Rio Brazos Art Exhibition and Bosque Art Classic. Tim does commissioned pieces, teaches Drawing 101 workshops around Central Texas, and judges juried art shows.
