Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, in cooperation with Tarleton State University, presents a turfgrass management program for the general public, plus a tour of the new aquaponics hydrotron at the university’s Agriculture Center and College Farm.
Participants will learn about turfgrass management, including the use of pre-emergence herbicides and weed control, pesticide labels and laws. The new aquaponics hydrotron shown in the tour enables Tarleton to grow plants in water.
Speakers include:
Dr. Hennen Cummings, associate professor and director of Tarleton’s turfgrass management and aquaponics program
Lonnie Jenschke, Erath County extension agent for ag and natural resources at the local Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office
AgriLife Extension offers three continuing education units (CEUs) for Texas Department of Agriculture private-applicator license holders (one credit in laws and regulations and two general credits).
