Lawnmower Races

The Texas Grasscar Hot-Rod Lawnmower Drag Races will once again be part of the July Fourth Celebration in the City Park. This will be the 20th running of the Lawnmower Races, as they began back in 1997. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE: HELMETS ARE REQUIRED IN ALL CLASSES SUPER MODIFIED CLASSES ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A DEAD MANS KILL SWITCH.  

There will be several different Classes as usual and two Top Eliminators of the Day Race.

The Classes will be as Follows:

Stock: (like you bought them or use them for mowing) Only Modifications allowed Are Tires and wheels may be changed, Exhaust system may be changed or modified, as well as The Air Cleaner. The Governor May also be modified or removed.

Modified Stock: Same Modifications as Stock, Plus overall gearing may be changed. Steering May also be changed or Modified.
(Note: The engine pulley cannot be larger than the Transmission Pulley)

The Modified classes will be divided up by number of pistons.  

Modified (Single cylinder)
Modified (Twin Cylinders)

Modifications allowed in Modified Classes are as follow: Tires, wheels, axles, Transmissions or transaxles may be modified or changed. Overall gearing may be changed. Steering may be modified as well as width and wheelbase. Centrifugal and electric clutches are allowed.

Engine Modifications: Boring, Stroking, porting, and polishing are allowed.
Ignitions may be modified or changed. Crankshafts, Rods, Pistons, Camshafts, Valves, springs, Bearing and or bushings may be changed or modified.

Super Modified: Rules for this class are simple: You are in Texas Go For It! Please Let it Resemble a Lawnmower. Engines may be changed I.e. you can use a non-Lawnmower engine as long as a stock lawnmower Body is used.  Custom Frames are aloud but please let it resemble a lawn mower.  Multiple Engines are also allowed.

All Classes will Pay Trophies to First and Second Place Finishers.

The Top Eliminators of The day will be split up run last and all Entries are eligible.  

There will be two top Eliminators one top eliminator for the strictly lawn mowers that are still running a lawnmower frame and lawn mower engine, the other will be for custom frames and engines.  

The Slower Mowers will not be given a head start due to the fact that we are looking for the truly fastest lawnmower out there. 

There will be Two Large Trophies for The Top Eliminators of the Day Race.

Trophy presentation will be held right after the top Eliminators are finished we encourage the spectators to stay for this presentation and applaud for the drivers you were rooting for.  Immediately after the trophies are handed out grudge races will be aloud along with head starts as well there will be several new match ups during the grudge racing due to the fact that racers will be aloud to race out of there class against anyone that is willing to put their machine up against their competitor so there will be plenty of action going on. 

As always there is No Spectator Fee, No Pit Pass fee, and No Entry Fee for The Lawnmower Races. That’s Right, IT IS FREE!!!!! Always has been and always will be.
