Featuring Future Stars of Pro Rodeo - High School Champions Showdown
In an effort to encourage the future stars of pro rodeo as they pursue a college education the CCPRA has created a unique event found only in Stephenville: The Cowboy Capital Scholarship Shootout. The current event champions of Texas High School Rodeo Association Region III and Region X (which both overlap the Stephenville area) are invited to compete in head to head matches with a total of $8,000 in scholarships up for grabs on Sunday, September 25 during the 3rd PRCA Rodeo performance. 16 high school rodeo athletes will show off their skills right alongside their pro rodeo heroes in front of packed grandstands. The winner of each head to head match is awarded a hard earned $1,000 college scholarship. Imagine what it must feel like to be a high school student standing on the back of the chutes, elbow to elbow with world champions like Jacobs Crawley and Sage Kimzey? Or how about backing in the roping box with a slew of NFR qualifiers standing at the barrier or even running barrels just minutes after the amazing Fallon Taylor? What an awesome opportunity being provided to these outstanding young rodeo athletes!
